North Carolina built much of America's furniture, and it shows in the estates. Households across the Triad and beyond are full of quality casegoods, often from makers whose names still carry comps. The same state supports a pottery tradition around Seagrove, a mountain art scene in Asheville, basketball-obsessed college markets, and one of the largest military populations in the country. Few states give resellers this many distinct angles.

Charlotte is the volume metro: banking-money suburbs, steady estate sales, big thrift. The Triangle, Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill, adds three universities and tech-professional households. The Triad, Greensboro, Winston-Salem, and High Point, is the furniture heartland, where estate sales routinely include better pieces than the photos suggest.
